Each country has a capital city, Tanjouseki is the capital city of earth country and home to the palace of the daimyo of Tsuchi no Kuni. The buildings in Tanjouseki are made of granite and other rare minerals that are mined from a nearby mine. This village recently has been known for a stir to end the neutrality of their ninja village.

Mining is the Earth Country's greatest source of income, their rich land serving to encourage trade with others. The largest of these mines, found a few miles from the Capital, has served to supply the land with an abundance of riches, though as they dig deeper, so has it become more dangerous. The mine's themselves have dug so deep into the earth that mining in the area has become dangerous and the area unstable.

An order of monks live here, seeking the enlightenment by which they believe will only come by understanding life- Be it peace or war. Because of this, many of them are skilled in the Shinobi arts, and have as of recent served to act in replacement for Iwagakure. Because of their violent approach, they have long been at odds with the Temple of Fire. Many of the ninja's of iwagakure retire to live in peace and help their village in peace.

If there is one thing that the Earth region is known for is for it's mountainous area's, but the largest of all these mountains is known as the Joukai Ri-Chi mountain range. These mountains in the lore of earth country were created by the gods as a battleground for their most powerful creations, the Bijuu. It is believed that ninja who make a pilgrimage through these mountains will come out as an enlightened person.

Many small towns can be found across Iwa, especially near the borders as stops for travelers. While not as flourishing as the greater cities, the peace of such a place is comforting to some. Mines are often found near such places. These towns in fear of the ninja villages power trust their land to the care of the ninja village instead of the full care of the daimyo.
